Membership in the Association entitles you to attend general meetings, to participate in recommending courses and to attend any of the courses offered (subject to class-size limitations) in any location.
Three terms of courses are offered – fall, winter and spring – and classes meet once per week for about two hours over a period of six weeks. These courses are designed for your learning enjoyment without tests or exams. There is no additional cost for taking courses beyond the twelve month membership fee.
You may join SCANS at any time during the year - you do not have to wait until Course Registration opens. The membership fee is $135.00 annually. The fee is subject to 15% HST, bringing your total remittance to $155.25 if paying by cheque or cash. Membership is effective for one year from the term in which you join. No single-term option is available. You will be advised when your membership requires renewal.
SCANS has a limited number of bursaried memberships available. Please contact the Office Manager for more information. Membership Payment Methods: SCANS offers three payment methods: by cheque, by cash, or online by secure PayPal.
If paying by cheque, you may pay in installments. Instead of one cheque of 155.25, you may write two or three cheques. Two cheques: one of $77.62 and another of $77.63 Three cheques of $51.75 each
If you choose this option, all cheques must be received at the same time. The first cheque should be dated the 15 of the month of registration, and the other cheque(s) dated within three months.
