On a volunteer and non-profit basis, the Society will seek to achieve these objects:
To provide affordable learning opportunities for seniors (age 50 years and older) on academic topics they select that will be arranged and monitored by the peers they choose.
To liaise, develop linkages and partner, when practicable, with other organizations that share common goals.
To promote and advocate the interests of seniors in the field of life-long learning.
Programming
Under normal circumstances, Seniors' College produces 60-75 courses (six weeks in length) in three terms per year. These are delivered in several communities (chapters), with Halifax being the home base. The other chapters are in Truro, Mahone Bay, and Liverpool. More may be added in the future according to local interest and capacity. In addition to courses, Seniors' College provides special public lectures during each term.
